Chronic Pain
At Kalamazoo Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, chronic pain affects a significant number of patients who come into our office.
We define chronic pain as any persistent issue lasting over nine months without relief. For many of our patients, they’ve already tried just about everything – from massage therapy to acupuncture, traditional chiropractic care, and physical therapy – but have seen little to no results.
The frustrating part is that chronic pain is rarely just about the physical symptoms. While the body’s movement and structure certainly play a role, there are often other factors contributing to the pain. Stress, poor nutrition, lifestyle habits, and sleep issues are frequently overlooked but can significantly impact the severity and persistence of chronic pain.
When working with chronic pain patients, we take a holistic approach. We don’t just focus on how you’re moving your body; we deep dive into every aspect of your health, from stress levels to diet and sleep quality. This holistic view is often missing in traditional medical systems, where pain is typically treated in isolation rather than considering the whole person.
Chronic pain can also take a toll on your mental and emotional well-being. Patients often struggle with fatigue, anxiety, and constant worry about whether they’ll ever feel “normal” again. Concerns about whether they’ll ever be able to do the things they love or even handle daily tasks without pain are common.
That’s why, with my treatment modalities, we focus on ensuring you move well and address any potential body issues first. From there, if the pain isn’t purely physical, we look into nutrition, stress relief, and other factors that contribute to chronic pain. By taking this comprehensive approach, we aim to bring real, long-lasting relief to our patients, not just temporary fixes. Our goal is to help you regain control of your life and health, free from the constant struggle of chronic pain.
